Hurricane Season

The 2024 hurricane season begins June 1 and runs through Nov. 30. While the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has not released its forecast for 2024, in an average hurricane season the U.S. experiences 14 named storms, seven of which are hurricanes and three of which are major hurricanes.

Will 2024 be an active hurricane season?

Twenty named storms last year made the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season the fourth most active on record, and according to an extended forecast by TropicalStormRisk.com, 2024 could be just as busy, if not busier.
